With only 2 weeks of the summer months left, the camping season is coming to a close.  Just a reminder to make your reservations if you are planning on going to Fish Lake or Medicine Lake Campgrounds sometime yet this camping season.  After the September long weekend, campgrounds do tend to slow down so reservations may not be needed but they do guarantee that you have a site.  In regards to September long, make sure to come out as early as you can if you are going to a campground that is on a first come first serve basis as campgrounds due tend to fill up early on long weekends.

Thanks to everyone so far that has come out camping this summer and look forward to seeing everyone next season!

NO FIRE BANS AT ANY OF OUR CAMPGROUNDS

UPDATE FOR JULY 18, 2015

Well what a kick start to summer!! Just loving the hot weather.  Just a reminder now that it is summer, to make sure you have your reservations in place for any long weekends you are planning on coming out.  Also if you're coming to the Fish Lake campground, you can make reservations for loop 4, which is a non service loop, but when you get here and a site by the lake or a power site is available, we can transfer your reservation and then you'll just have to pay the difference.  Moving from a non service site to a serviced site, there is a $7.00 difference and this can be paid at the Bear Essentials store in loop 3.

THERE IS NO FIRE BAN ON FOR ANY OF OUR CAMPGROUNDS!

CAMPGROUND UPDATE FOR JULY 1 2013

Well  the summer camping season has officially begun! Whoo hoo!

So just to update everyone about the recent flooding, we did have to shut down some of our campgrounds due to the rising rivers and creeks,
but as of now, all of our campgrounds are open.  At Thompson Creek Campground, only loops 1 and 2 are open
due to the road washing out that crosses the creek.
We are hoping that the road will soon be rebuilt so campers can use loop 3.

2013 campground updates
Westward Bound Campgrounds would like to thank all of our campers that stayed
with us in the 2012 camping season, and we hope to see all of you again this year.

To keep everyone informed on the status of our Alberta campgrounds we are pleased to update you on the following:

 Fish Lake

Fish Lake now has 14 new large stalls added to the top end of Loop 4, and is now called Loop 5.
For the historians out there, the 14 new stalls are located where the old Group Camp
Site was located. We have had a full year of operation on our new Group Camp Site,
located just off of Highway #11 at the entrance to Fish Lake.
The new group site has 13 stalls with power, quad access, horseshoe pits, camp shelter
with power, outhouse with lights, sand volleyball court and a sand pile for the kids to play in.
Loop 2 has had upgrades to allow for larger units to make the corners
with taking out some old stumps and trees.
Loop 4 remains our only reservation loop that you can go on line at www.reserve.albertaparks.ca
to book your spot. Also a note if all of the first come first serve sites are taken and you
did not reserve you can stop into the Bear Essentials store to see if you can
reserve a spot in Loop 4.
The store (Bear Essentials) at Loop 3 has received good feedback from our campers
offering ice, food, camping supplies, fishing bait and supplies, as well as camper assistance.
Thank you to all who stopped in.

Aylmer and Blackstone

For those who are looking for a group camp site right on the North Saskatchewan or
Blackstone Rivers, we have two new Group Campgrounds for you.
We have turned both of these campgrounds into group campgrounds
that offers online booking so you are guaranteed that perfect spot.

If you forgot the hot dogs and marshmallows, or anything else, at home just head on over to
Loop 3 of the Fish Lake campgrounds and visit our general store
“The Bear Essentials” The store in 2013 will be open for the 3rd full year of operation. We are improving our stock every year so come and see what we have to help you out.

For more information on each campground, please click the link on the left or you may Contact Us with any questions you may have.
